Scratch Reflection
Using Scratch appeared to be the most challenging for me, more so than Flash and Photoshop. If I were to assess myself on this project I would give myself a grade level 4 because firstly, on my own part I was not able to complete my project and secondly, I had frequent changes in ideas and thoughts which made me lose time. The biggest thing that I am disappointed in is how much I got frustrated by not being able to do something and as my agitation mounted my interest crashed. During this project the design cycle [Investigation, Plan, Create, and Evaluate] is vital. I feel I used the design cycle relatively well in this project. If I were to repeat this experiment, I would go into it with a more positive attitude, and try my hardest to stick to one idea and NOT spend too much time planning the idea and leaving little time to actually create the animation. A suggestion for any student who is to create an animation using Scratch, would be to not get frustrated too easily, because it is a difficult program to use but with practice and willingness one may find themselves being able to cruise through making the animation.

Storyboard
A girl is on a mid-night stroll in a forest [for some reason], She then sees a mysterious dark figure emerging from the darkness [the Phantom]. He leads her to a gate/portal, overwhelmed, she then has a giant idea explosion.

Evaluation-Animation
Personally I would give myself a 5[out of 6] for this project. In general I felt this project was relatively interesting because it showed me things I didnt know as much about before like how much hard work it takes to make a whole animated movie. I think my animation was good all in all but it was a bit tricky because for my storyboard to be respected, I had to take the idea of a hundred minute long musical and make it into a two minute long animated story. if i were to do this again I would go with perhaps a more complex approach such as using scenes; which is something I didn't do this time. Suggestions for whoever is to do this next year, would be to be sure to have a basic understanding of Flash [and Photoshop] to avoid mistakes and frustrarion. I did have difficulties using Flash in this process, the biggest and most frequent error was generally using Layers . Overall this project was interesting and quite different from what we have been studying in the past three years in Technology and I would not mind having to repeat it.

Storyline
A girl, a nerd, a mad dentist, a flower shop owner, a singing plant, what could possibly go wrong. My story is about a young man [Seymour] who works at a beat down flower shop owned by [Mr. Mushnik]. He has nothing much going for him the love of his life [Audrey], is dating a mad dentist [Orin Scrivello]. He discovers a mysterious breed of flytrap He names it [Audrey 2]. He soon discovers that it feeds on nothing… but blood. This plant was so amazing it brought him fame and fortune, but the only way his life will stay successful is if he keeps feeding the plant. Audrey 2 soon convinces him to feed him more such that he becomes bigger and bigger… now if Audrey 2 feeds on blood how will it continue to thrive…

Photoshop Animation Reflection
Making an animation with photoshop at first was a rather long and gruelling process mostly because it had been a while since I had used photoshop. The challenges I faced were mostly because of frustration, in situations wherby I would for example insert a picture and it would appear in all the frames and I did not know how to remove it because the whole aspects of using 'layers' confused me. Things that were simpler to do was actually inserting and editing the photos and text which was quite basic and straightforward. If we were to repeat this project again, I would go into it with a more positive attitude and try to use more complex functions as opposed to basic ones.

Investigation- Animation
What is animation?
Animation is quality of being active or spirited or alive and vigorous or the condition of living or the state of being alive.
Computer animation is used to create animations [in animations] as well as special effects [in action movies]
Traditional animation- or classic animation is the oldest form of animation whereby each frame is drawn by hand.
Stop motion- also known as frame by frame is a technique whereby the impression of movement is created by using one or more still frames.
Computer animation- or CGI is simply creating moving images using computers.
Flip book- a book with a series of pictures such that when the pages are turned quickly it gives the illusion of a moving animation.
To create animations you can use:
2Animate
Photoshop
2D design
3D design
